Bob Newhart Tribute Special Draws Record 4.1 Million Viewers on CBS

 CBS's tribute to the legendary comedian Bob Newhart, titled “Bob Newhart: A Legacy of Laughter,” captivated 4.1 million viewers on Monday night. The “Entertainment Tonight” special celebrated Newhart's extraordinary 70-year career in comedy following his recent passing at age 94. This made the special the most-watched program in its 8 p.m. timeslot, outperforming competing shows such as NBC's “American Ninja Warrior” (2.7 million viewers), ABC's “The Bachelorette” (2.6 million viewers), Fox's “Name That Tune” (1.4 million viewers), and CW's “All American: Homecoming” (322,000 viewers). In addition to being the top-rated show of the night, excluding sports telecasts, “Bob Newhart: A Legacy of Laughter” also became the highest-viewed “Entertainment Tonight” special ever. Colorado Air National Guard Honors Independence Day with F-16 Flyovers

 CENTENNIAL, Colo. — In celebration of America's independence on July 4, 2024, the Colorado Air National Guard will showcase their F-16C Viper jets in spectacular flyovers across various Colorado communities.

The resonant sight and sound of these F-16C Vipers soaring through the skies will serve as a poignant tribute to our nation's enduring strength and liberty. The scheduled flyovers aim to honor the legacy of those who have valiantly served in defense of our country, while also celebrating the cherished freedoms that define our national identity.


"We are proud to commemorate our nation's independence with the resounding 'sound of freedom' produced by the formidable F-16 Viper," remarked U.S. Air Force Col. Jeremiah "Weed" Tucker, Commander of the 140th Wing. "These flyovers symbolize the unwavering vigilance and defense provided by the Colorado Air National Guard. As our jets thunder across the Colorado skies, they stand as vigilant sentinels and protectors of our state and nation."

The 140th Wing will launch their jets from Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora, Colorado, beginning at approximately 10:30 a.m., with flights continuing until noon.


On the morning of July 4, 2024, the F-16C Vipers will perform flyovers at several prominent event locations across Colorado, including:


Independence Day Weekend Celebration, Lake City: Scheduled for 10:45 a.m.

Silverton 150 Year Celebration, Silverton: Scheduled for 10:50 a.m.

Rico 4th of July Parade, Rico: Scheduled for 10:53 a.m.

Telluride 4th of July Parade, Telluride: Scheduled for 11:00 a.m.

Redstone 4th of July Celebration, Redstone: Scheduled for 11:12 a.m.

Granby 4th of July Parade, Granby: Scheduled for 11:24 a.m.

Greeley Stampede Independence Day Parade, Greeley: Scheduled for 11:35 a.m.

4th at Firestone, Firestone: Scheduled for 11:38 a.m.

Please note that these times are approximate and subject to change or cancellation due to weather conditions. The aircraft may also be visible as they transition between these event locations.

The coordination of these flyovers has been meticulously planned in collaboration with event organizers and the U.S. Air Force's Aerial Events Office in Washington, D.C. Importantly, these demonstrations serve as valuable training exercises for our skilled pilots and incur no additional costs to taxpayers.
