 CBS's tribute to the legendary comedian Bob Newhart, titled “Bob Newhart: A Legacy of Laughter,” captivated 4.1 million viewers on Monday night. The “Entertainment Tonight” special celebrated Newhart's extraordinary 70-year career in comedy following his recent passing at age 94. This made the special the most-watched program in its 8 p.m. timeslot, outperforming competing shows such as NBC's “American Ninja Warrior” (2.7 million viewers), ABC's “The Bachelorette” (2.6 million viewers), Fox's “Name That Tune” (1.4 million viewers), and CW's “All American: Homecoming” (322,000 viewers).  Actor and Los Angeles native Danny Trejo made headlines during an Independence Day Parade in L.A.’s Sunland-Tujunga neighborhood when a playful moment turned into a physical altercation. The incident, captured on video and shared widely on social media, sparked a heated exchange involving Trejo and other paradegoers.

Incident Details

Witnesses reported that Trejo, 80, was riding in a vintage convertible when a water balloon thrown by a paradegoer struck his vehicle, causing it to explode. In response, Trejo exited the car amidst children and parents, confronting the individual responsible under a nearby tent. What ensued was a brief but intense physical altercation, with Trejo throwing a punch and the other party retaliating, briefly knocking Trejo to the ground. The situation escalated momentarily, involving others in the vicinity before calm was restored.

Law enforcement sources informed TMZ that by the time they arrived, the crowd had dispersed, and no arrests were made. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported from the incident.
