 CBS's tribute to the legendary comedian Bob Newhart, titled “Bob Newhart: A Legacy of Laughter,” captivated 4.1 million viewers on Monday night. The “Entertainment Tonight” special celebrated Newhart's extraordinary 70-year career in comedy following his recent passing at age 94.  SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas – In a harrowing incident during the Fourth of July festivities, a man was severely bitten by a shark on South Padre Island, officials confirmed.

The shark attack occurred on Thursday morning and was reported to the authorities at approximately 11 a.m., according to Nikki Soto, the city secretary of South Padre Island.


Emergency Response


Responding promptly, the beach patrol, fire department, and police department provided immediate first aid on the beach. The victim was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
